Federal Agency Assignments

Federal Agencies do not recognize assignments or other documents filed at the county courthouse. These agencies only recognize transactions filed on the correct form and approved by their office. Many operators and working interest owners overlook this fact when conducting transactions that affect BLM/BIA managed tracts. Due to the massive amount of mergers and acquisitions which take place in the oil and gas industry, units that contain BIA or BLM tracts often have title deficiencies.
